Nutty Seed Bread

1 1/2 cups white flour

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup lightly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup chopped nuts *or sunflower seeds

1/4 cup wheat germ

1/4 cup sesame seeds

2 Tablespoons poppy seeds

1 egg, beaten

1 cup buttermilk

1/4 cup oil

Combine the first 10 ingredients in mixing bowl. Stir well to blend.

Beat egg, buttermilk and oil together. Add to dry ingredients. Stir just until moistened.

Pour batter into greased 9"x5" loaf pan. Bake at 350 F. for 50 to 60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool in pan for 10 minutes, the turn out onto wire rack to cool completely. Makes 1 loaf.
