2 cups shortening
1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
2 teaspoons aniseed
6 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup orange juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream the shortening and the sugar together until fluffy.
Beat in the egg yolks and aniseed. Add the flour, salt, and baking powder to the creamed mixture, alternately with the orange juice.
Knead the mixture to make a pliable dough that can be rolled.
Roll out dough to 1/8 " thickness and cut out with fancy cookie cutters, or a floured drinking glass.
Place on baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned.
